  • 1. INDONESIA SHOULD START GIVING DONATION TO FOREIGN COUNTRY Background: Since the beginning of armed conflict in Syria, Indonesia has been calling for a compromise and negotiations between the conflicting parties, arguing that the use of force will only bring sufferings to the people. Indonesian Ambassador to Kuwait Ferry Adamhar said Indonesians assistance to Syria was estimated at US$500 thousand, the same as that of last year. More than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed while thousand others have been wounded following recent Israeli military aggression on Gaza Strip in Palestine. The Indonesian government has so far given US$200,000 to the Palestinian Authority as part of its commitment to help the latter with US$1 million in cash. Indonesian National Police send troops to Darfur, Sudan. The troops consist of 140 personnel and are part of Form Police Unit VI (FPU VI) which duty is as UN peacekeeping forces in Sudan. Definition A donation is a gift given by physical or legal persons, typically for charitable purposes and/or to benefit a cause. A donation may take various forms, including cash offering, services, new or used goods including clothing, toys, food, and vehicles. It also may consist of emergency, relief or humanitarian aid items, development aid support, and can also relate to medical care needs as i.e. blood or organs for transplant. Therefore giving donation to foreign country means a gift in various forms from a country that is sent to abroad (foreign country) to help overcoming a problem in the given country. THEME LINE We are the affirmative team. We agree that Indonesia need to send foreign aid to countries needing our helps. Time split Each speaker has maximal time of 3 minutes. Limitation We can argue each other using all of point of view kinds. Argument Personally I completely agree that Indonesia should start giving aid to foreign country. Sharing what we have with other countries would never disappoint us and has lots of advantages we can get back from doing it. Besides we as Indonesians actually have a pledge that has something to do with helping other countries. Do you know why? Reason We all know that poverty is everywhere in Indonesia. Lots of people in Indonesia live poorly being homeless, lacking of needs etc. But it’s the government fault. Many of politicians corrupt the country’s budget. Indonesia is obviously very rich. As an archipelago country this country has excessive maritime yields. The fertile soil makes almost all kind of plants grow greatly over the country. We are also rich of gold and other mining results. How can we become so selfish with all of these treasures but refusing to help other countries needing our help when they are
  • 2. lacking of needs, protection, friends etc? It is indeed right that Indonesia still has a bunch of problems to solve beside corruption like people using drugs, teenagers do free sex, wherever it floods while wet season especially but that doesn’t mean that we need only take care of our own country. All those problems are caused by ourselves and our own government. That’s why Indonesia, you need to open your eyes. If you, parents and teachers think drugs, free sex and such things are supposed to be stayed away then teach your children to avoid them well, you should be careful and make them believe that those things are dangerous to do. Increase our education about morality and society. For flood problem, please learn to throw out your rubbish in the existing trash bins. Indonesia should really get rid of inappropriate cultures like that. Second, none can live alone, so does not a country. Every single country must need help from other countries to live their country. While we do have problems in our country, helping other countries would certainly pay off. If we help them, they will remember us when we need them to do something for us later. If there is a natural disaster or an attack towards our country we would have allies to help us overcoming the problem we are facing. Nevertheless if we don’t help other countries who bets it would be easy for us to get a help from another country? Remember that we are not strong enough to build our country nor are we strong enough to mend our errors. A country is just like an individual, when you help none then none would help you as well. Third, I am completely sure that you often hear the constitution opening 1945 of Republic Indonesia. But do you realize that there are several phrases that have something to do with giving donation to abroad? “maka penjajahan diatas dunia harus dihapuskan karena tidak sesuai dengan perikemanusiaan dan perikeadilan.” Which means in english “therefore colonialism over the universe should be wiped out since it is not suitable along the way of humanity and the way of justice. “dan ikut melaksanakan ketertiban dunia yang berdasarkan kemerdekaan,” which in English means “and to take part working on the orderliness of the world that is based on independence”. That’s how they sound. They mean obviously that we need to help other countries especially those which are still colonized. If we refuse to help then it means that you are not a good Indonesian as you don’t follow the constitution. Fact Latest available figures, March 2007 show that 37.17 million people are under the poverty line representing 16.58% of the entire population. From tempo.co : 18 countries gave donations to Aceh.

Link Bank We all people over the world are brothers and sisters. It has been our task to reach out of our hands for them to hold. Therefore to be a good citizen of our nation and of the world we should not be selfish. Name : Mubarok Dilma Fasa Class : XI Language
